True friends stab you in the front.

Well, it has become painfully clear to me that I'm never going to get around to telling you all about my trip to New York. I've just had entirely too much to do lately. So, in order to get this blog up and running again I'll have to move on.

Nothing truly exciting has been happening since my trip. My main worry is how poor I am. I mean, really poor (as in, "How am I ever going to pay my rent, which is due in a week!" kind of poor). I don't even want to think about my mounting credit card bill. I think it's time to humble myself and hit up the relatives for some cash. I'd hate to have to do that, but I'm desparate. Maybe they will find it in their hearts to have pity on me.

My mother bought me a little Christmas tree for my apartment last week. It's cute. I decorated it with lights, a shiny star on top, glittery mini bulbs, and my very first "living on my own" Christmas ornament (which is, of course, a Harry Potter ornament).

My mother also took me to see "Tony and Tina's Wedding" on Sunday. It's a play where the audience and actors interact. You attend the fake wedding and reception of two Italian-American families (the Vitales and the Nunzios). I cringed at all the sexual jokes (and there were a lot), but all in all it was pretty darn funny. It was really interesting to be able to interact with the actors. When we were in the chapel (called "Vinnie Black's House of Love" or something corny like that), one of the actors was hitting on the women sitting behind us. After the wedding we went to the reception (located in "Vinnie Black's Bologna Palace"), which was just hilarious. I'd like to tell you guys everything that happened, but there was just so much that it would take days. I had a good time, though.

My best friend Susan finally got the internet. I've been waiting for this for three years! Before her family owned a computer, we would always have to keep in touch the old fashioned way; through snail mail. I have nothing against regular mail, there is a certain nuance that comes with a hand written letter (not to mention it meant I was able to use my cool Harry Potter stationery). However, it's much faster, easier, and less expensive to use e-mail. Now we don't have to wait so long to communicate, which is good for me because (and I know it sounds corny) I miss her.

In other news, there is an employee art show going on in the student center. I submitted a painting and a drawing. I found out this morning that the reception for it is tonight, so I might mosey on down to hear what people think of my work. Both of the works I submitted are old (the drawing is really old - like high school old), but I hope they will do. The other pieces are very nice, too. We have some talented employees here at the student center.
