It was so sad to hear of the murder of reporter Daniel Pearl. I was hoping and praying that he would get out of the hostage situation alive. He was just about to be a first-time father. It's tragic that his child will never know him.
President Bush said this incident will only strengthen the resolve of the American people, and I believe he's right. Just look at everything we've already been through. I don't know what these people hoped to accomplish, anyway. They know the United States doesn't negotiate with terrorists.
Darren and I saw The Royal Tennanbaums on Wednesday night and we couldn't have been more delighted with the movie. It wasn't as funny as I thought it was going to be, but it was quite good. I loved how the actors deadpanned the most outrageous situations, and the story was excellent. I can see why it's nominated for Best Screenplay.
I was able to spend some time with Jenna last night. We hung out at Susan's Coffee House and talked for about an hour. Watching Jenna talk is like a special event. She seems to throw her entire body into whatever she says. When she gets excited about something her hands fly all over the place and her big blue eyes look like they're going to pop right out of their sockets. She was very enthusiastic about the skit we're going to do tonight.
I was told yesterday that I will be taking part in a "Dating Game"-type skit at the devotional tonight. I will play a jealous woman competing for the affections of a guy. There are no lines to memorize (like I really would have remembered them, anyway), so my performance will be pure improvisation.
This should be interesting.
I did manage to do pretty well the last time we did this kind of thing. One of our campus devotionals was a scaled-down version of "Who's Line Is It Anyway?" I had fun, even though improvising the roles was hard. It was a lot easier when I was paired up with a quick-witted person because they gave me more material to work with. Not that I'm an extremely talented actor. The only thing I ever starred in was my fourth grade play.
I'm learning to use Adobe Photoshop in my Digital Imaging class. I don't know how I'm ever going to remember all the tools and what they do. The background and graphics of this site were created using the simple paint program that came with my computer. They represent the extent of my limited graphic design skills. However, learning Photoshop has inspired me. I've already started creating small projects using the mass amount of stock photos I've collected over the years.
*I sense a site redesign coming on!*
