On New Year's Day my mother and I went to the movies because, once again, I couldn't find anyone else to go with me. We saw Catch Me If You Can, and it was just as good as I thought it would be. It was based on a true story and starred Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio. DiCaprio played Frank Abignale, Jr., a teenaged conman who travelled around the world while passing millions of dollars in fake checks. It's hard to believe that anyone, let alone a 16-year-old kid, could be smart enough to get away with so much. During his three year crime spree he pretended to be a pilot, doctor, lawyer, and other things they didn't focus on in the movie.
Movies like this make me wish I were an actor. DiCaprio's part must have been so much fun to play. I'd love to be able to convincingly play different kinds of people. Well, without defrauding them, of course.
Today I had a job interview for the position of receptionist at a company in Solon. I really want to work there. I know that I can do the job, the people seem nice, and (best of all) they'll let me wear JEANS! This means I won't have to spend money I don't have to buy more professional clothes. The salary range they mentioned was on the low side, but I can work with that. Also, I live only ten minutes away from the place. This is great because I'm not known for my punctuality.
I NEED to get this job.
I have another job interview on Monday for, of all things, a management position in the print market. What was I thinking when I applied for that? I guess we'll see how that goes.
So far I haven't had a problem getting interviews from my resumes. Let's see if they lead to any jobs so I can finally move out of my mother's house!
